Most people have never had a professional photo shoot before. When it’s time for an engagement photo shoot, it’s best to have a few tips on how to make the most out of your photography session.
1. Wear something Comfortable – You want to dress nice, but make sure you have something that is comfy too. If you’re wearing heels, make sure to bring a set of comfy shoes to walk in. If you’re wearing a dress, bring a coat to keep yourself warm when we’re not taking photos.
2. Select outfits without distracting patterns – wear something that has solid colors. Avoid things with too many patterns.
3. Make a date out of it – have an easy lunch meal, plan a nice dinner, etc. Make the engagement photo shoot part of a day-long date!
4. Steam/Iron your clothing ahead of time – Hang your clothes in the car to avoid any wrinkles.
5. Stay hydrated and fed – To avoid hunger/frustration - bring snacks and lots of water. A photo shoot is very active, so you can work up a hunger easily.
6. Bring multiple outfits – Something nice, but also bring something that shows who you really are! Different outfits can fit in better with different scenes/locations.
7. Bring props or things that are special to you
8. Enjoy the photo shoot and have fun! It’s a great way to practice being in front of the camera for the time the wedding rolls around.
